Marine Crews Rescue Five from Rising Tide Incident
Milford, CT - Milford Fire Department crews conducted a water rescue operation after multiple individuals became stranded and overcome by an incoming tide near a sandbar.
Two individuals were initially in distress while attempting to cross the sandbar, and three bystanders entered the water in an effort to assist, resulting in a total of five people requiring rescue. Responding crews deployed two marine units and successfully removed all individuals from the water.
All parties were brought to safety without further incident. The situation highlights the dangers associated with sandbars, including rapidly changing tides and unstable footing. Officials strongly advise the public to avoid attempting to cross sandbars due to the significant risk involved.
