Working Fire on Chamber St. in City of Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - The City of Newburgh FD responded to a reported structure fire at 36-38 Chamber Street on June 30th. Newburgh Car 4 arrived and reported a working fire on the 1/2 corner third floor of the three-story building. Two lines were stretched and a second-alarm was transmitted. Mutual Aid requested to the scene included West Point/Ladder, Air National Guard/Engine, and Cronomer Valley/Engine. Middlehope FD/Ladder was on stand by at the Public Safety Building. The fire was knocked down and firefighters began opening up the cockloft to check for extensions. Orange County Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-14 was at the scene, as well as the Fire Investigation Unit. The fire is under investigation.
