Members of the Alloway Township Fire Company arrived at the Sawmill Road area on June 16th in response to a report of a car accident involving a trapped victim.

One individual was trapped in a single-vehicle collision when Ladder 19-6 arrived, according to officials. After being swiftly extricated by the crew of Rescue Engine 19-9, the patient was taken to EMS personnel for treatment before being transported by medical helicopter from a landing zone set up at Alloway School. Tender 19-5 and Ladder 19-6 stayed at the collision site to keep the roads closed while Rescue Engine 19-9 and Brush 19-4 controlled the landing zone.

Department leaders said the incident marked the second emergency response for the department's new Rescue Engine since it entered service. The crash remains under investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
