Dumont, NJ - The Dumont Volunteer Fire Department responded as part of an automatic aid assignment to a reported structure fire on Brown Place in Bergenfield.
Chief 210, C3, and Engine 4 arrived alongside Bergenfield fire companies. The crew from Engine 4 stretched the initial attack line and began an aggressive interior fire attack on the first floor, where flames had spread through multiple rooms.
The coordinated efforts of all responding departments brought the fire under control quickly. Firefighters then conducted extensive overhaul operations to locate and extinguish remaining hot spots, ensuring the fire was fully extinguished.
