Brevard, FL- Brevard County Fire Rescue crews responded to a house fire on Indian Mound Drive in Melbourne Beach, with multiple units arriving quickly to find an active structure fire.

Firefighters worked alongside Melbourne Beach Fire and the United States Air Force to bring the blaze under control. A small wooded area behind the home also caught fire but was rapidly extinguished, preventing further spread.

All residents were able to safely evacuate; however, a pet inside the home did not survive. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
