For the past three years, Molly, now an 8th grader from our community, has operated lemonade stands selling homemade brownies and handcrafted goods to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Through her own initiative and hard work, she has raised over $1,800 for the MDA.
Molly reached out to Local 892 three years ago knowing of our partnership with the MDA and asked if we would help channel her fundraising efforts to the organization. We were honored to say yes, and she has delivered every single year since.
On Saturday, June 20th we had the privilege of presenting Molly with a formal letter of recognition from Local 892 and accepting her most recent donation on behalf of the MDA. Pictured with Molly are President Michael Podzaline, Lt. Terry Cooper, Michael Christoff, Arthur Muench, and MDA Committee Chair Paul Tardif Jr.
The IAFF and Local 892 fight for families affected by neuromuscular disease every day. It means everything when the next generation shows up to fight alongside us.
Way to go, Molly. We're proud of you.
