Ansonia Fire Department personnel responded to a reported house fire in the city's Hilltop neighborhood on June 3.

When firemen arrived, they discovered an electrical fire outside the house, according to officials. In order to ascertain whether the fire had spread inside the house, crews promptly turned off the electricity and thoroughly examined the house. The event was contained without causing any more damage, and no fire extension was discovered.

During the response, Assistant Chief Pitney was in charge of the event. Firefighters cleaned the area and put the responding units back into action after making sure the house was secure.
