Brush Fire breaks out in Carlsbad lagoon

A brush fire was reported around 1 PM in the lagoon. The forward rate of spread was stopped at 10 acres. Ground crews from Carlsbad, Vista, Oceanside, Cal-fire and Encinitas assisted along with a helicopter from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department that made water drops. a 59 yr old man from Carlsbad threw a lighted object in the brush. The suspect, David Prosser was arrested for resisting law enforcement and arson.
