Torrington Crews Extinguished Brookside Avenue Fire

Torrington, CT. — June 6 — After receiving reports of people trapped inside a multi-family home on Brookside Avenue, the Torrington Fire Department responded to the reported fire. With assistance from other occupants, two adults and a baby managed to flee through second-floor windows prior to the arrival of firefighters. Within four minutes, crews arrived on the scene, established that the fire was operational, and ensured that everyone had left safely.


During the incident, a second alarm guaranteed city coverage and sent in more firefighters. It took five minutes to contain the main body of fire. Police, EMS, and mutual help agencies provided assistance. No firefighter injuries were reported, and one resident suffered a minor injury.
