Two-Alarm Structure Fire in New Windsor

NEW WINDSOR, NY - New Windsor FD responded to a reported structure fire at 136 John Street, June 24th. On arrival, fire was showing through the roof of the residence. A second-alarm was sounded, bringing in the Vails Gate, Cornwall, West Point, and Coldenham Fire Departments to the scene while Good-Will FD was placed on standby at New Windsor quarters. Crews attacked the fire with hand lines to bring it under control. Shortly after, the order was given for everyone to get out of the structure due to its instability. All occupants were all safely evacuated. New Windsor Police and EMS were also at the scene as well as New Windsor Fire Inspector 36-4 36-14 from county. Central Hudson was called in for a power cut. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
