NORWALK, CT - The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident that involved a pick-up truck vs. a residential structure at 7 Rockmere Rd just after noon on June 17th. The driver appeared to have suffered a medical event, causing the accident. Police and firefighters were able to remove the driver from the vehicle after removing unstable debris, and they were transported to Norwalk Hospital. Firefighters temporarily shored up the building to the satisfaction of the Chief Building Official, as several structural columns were destroyed in the collision. An Engine, Ladder, Rescue and Command staff responded with a total of 15 firefighters. The Norwalk Police Department is investigating the accident.
