Mutual Aid Crews Assisted at Tuxbury Pond Brush Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

South Hampton, N.H. — June 14 — Several mutual aid organizations were needed to help South Hampton Fire-Rescue respond to a brush fire on an island in Tuxbury Pond. Firefighters used boats to deliver personnel and equipment to the area because of the island's position. Access to the location and fire suppression efforts were aided by forestry resources and other departments.

To keep the fire contained and stop it from spreading to nearby plants, crews collaborated. While boat crews assisted with activities on the island, responders worked from several locations surrounding the pond. There were no reported injuries when the fire was put out. Before resolving the situation, firefighters stayed on the scene to deal with hot areas.
