Seminole County Fire Department Graduates 30 New Recruits

Seminole County Fire Department’s (SCFD) recruit class 22-01 with 30 new Probationary Firefighters recently graduated from the Department’s 8-week training academy. In addition, former SCFD Deputy Chief Jeff Ward served as the keynote speaker. He was one of the founding members of SCFD’s Special Hazards & Operations Team (SHOT). SHOT is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Of the 30 graduates in this class:

-60% grew up in Seminole County and/or reside in Seminole County, Florida
-23% have former firefighter experience or volunteer firefighter experience
Many are first-generation firefighters in their family. Of the graduates, 16% have family in the fire service.
