Second-Alarm House Fire Injures Resident, Two Firefighters in Norwalk

Norwalk, CT - A house fire on Harriet Street injured one resident and two firefighters after flames heavily involved the second floor of a 1½-story single-family home.


Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and quickly brought the blaze under control. A total of 39 firefighters responded to the second-alarm incident with four engines, two ladder companies, a rescue company, and command staff.

Two unrelated occupants safely evacuated the home.


The second-floor resident suffered burn injuries and was transported to a burn center for treatment, while the first-floor resident was uninjured and is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. Two firefighters sustained minor burn injuries.


The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Office.
