Small Plane Crashes Into Fence at Danbury Airport

Following reports of a small aircraft crash on airport land, Danbury Fire Department personnel arrived at Danbury Municipal Airport at around 10:20 a.m. on June 4.


According to officials, the plane landed just short of Backus Avenue after colliding with a perimeter fence at the end of Runway 35. Under the supervision of airport management, firefighters helped securely disentangle the aircraft from the fencing.


The incident did not damage the pilot, who was the only person inside the plane. There were no other recorded injuries.


The Federal Aviation Administration is still looking into the crash's cause and circumstances.
