As lunch time rolled around Monday afternoon, a call came in for a reported fire at the Residence Inn in the Trade Zone area of town. On arrival black smoke was coming from the second floor on the “D” side of the building. Guests were evacuating as a second alarm was struck. Firefighters pushed their way to Division “2” and the building was laddered from the outside. The fire appeared to be in an AC unit which extended into the walls.
