Overnight Brush Fire Response Contained in Beaver Township
Beaver TWP, PA - In the early morning hours of May 24, firefighters from the Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Company responded to a reported brush fire caused by a fallen tree near 1053 State Road.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., Stations 140 and 210 were dispatched to the scene. Chief 210C arrived and assumed command, determining that Station 210 units would be sufficient for the incident. Brush 143 responded with two firefighters, while three additional members responded in their personal vehicles to assist.
Upon arrival, crews found that the fallen tree continued to burn while suspended in the air. Firefighters monitored the situation and worked to extinguish burning embers while awaiting the arrival of utility personnel from PPL. Once the hazard was mitigated and all remaining hot spots were extinguished, the scene was secured.
All personnel were cleared from the incident at approximately 4:15 a.m. The department expressed its appreciation to the firefighters who responded during the overnight hours to protect and serve the community.
