BREA, CA - On June 05 at 2:45PM Fullerton/Brea and Anaheim Fire Departments responded to a reported house fire on the 1100 block of W Fern Street in the city of Brea. The first unit on scene found a single family residence with fire and heavy smoke coming from a bedroom on the alpha/delta side of the home and was quickly upgraded from a working assignment to a second alarm fire. It was reported that there may have been a resident still inside the home, however, after a primary search only a pet cat was found. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the cat that was overcome by smoke but were unsuccessful. No injuries were reported and a knockdown was declared in approximately 25 minutes.
