Burke County EMA Assisted with Brantley County Wildfire Response

BURKE COUNTY, GA — May 6th — Burke County EMA staff responded to wildfire activity in Brantley County alongside firefighters from throughout Georgia. Crews protected homes, property, and natural resources while working long hours under difficult conditions. Responders from a number of agencies, including Garden City Fire Rescue, Savannah Fire Department, Chatham County Fire Department, Bold Spring Fire Rescue, Royston Fire Department, Richmond Hill Fire Department, and Bryan County Fire & Rescue, participated in the deployment.


Avery White, Colton Pace, Tommy Harrison, Dylan Floyd, and Drew Stanley were acknowledged by Burke County EMA for their efforts throughout the assignment. According to officials, the deployment illustrated the importance of interagency cooperation, teamwork, and mutual aid during major situations.
