Quick Fire Suppression Limited Damage at East Fallowfield Township Home

East Brandywine, PA - On 21st May Thursday night, Rescue 49 and Utility 49-1 responded to a reported working house fire in East Fallowfield Township, providing mutual aid assistance alongside the Modena Fire Company and several surrounding departments.


Upon arrival, crews encountered a large two-story single-family residence with smoke visible from the attached garage. Battalion 49 and Firefighter D. Ashbee arrived quickly and deployed a 1¾-inch handline into the structure, locating and attacking the fire in the garage.


Their rapid intervention brought the fire under control swiftly, limiting the majority of the damage to the garage and preventing significant extension into the living areas. Only minor smoke damage was reported throughout the remainder of the home.


Firefighters from Coatesville, Modena, Westwood, Wagontown, Keystone Valley, Sadsburyville, West Bradford, Thorndale, East Brandywine, and Honey Brook worked together throughout the incident. Crews carried out a variety of operations, including fire suppression, ventilation, forcible entry of the garage doors, primary searches for occupants, and overhaul efforts.


Thanks to the coordinated efforts and quick actions of all responding personnel, the fire was placed under control shortly after 10:30 p.m. The incident highlighted the effectiveness of regional mutual aid cooperation and the professionalism of all companies operating at the scene.
