CENTERPORT, Pa. — May 12th — When smoke and flames were evident from a reported structure fire, Central Berks Fire Company firefighters arrived. When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered a well-involved garage fire that had spread to the connected house. Fire and smoke were seen spreading throughout parts of the roof area when Engine 38 firefighters deployed the first handline. Companies that provide mutual aid swiftly came to assist with operations.

Tanker resources, roof operations, and the installation of additional handlines all contributed to the maintenance of a consistent water supply. To confine the fire and stop it from spreading further, departments from all across the region collaborated. The event made clear how crucial well-coordinated mutual aid and efficient fireground operations are.
