BLANDON, Pa. — May 14th — During a hectic day of emergency operations in Berks County, the Blandon Fire Department, located at 36 W. Wesner Rd., responded to a car fire on Route 222 close to the new warehouse complex. Arriving firefighters secured the area, helped with traffic control, and tried to put out the fire. Beyond the impacted car, no other risks were mentioned.

Due to the possibility of fuel-related hazards and their effect on traffic along heavily frequented roads, vehicle fires necessitate a quick reaction. The event demonstrated the department's ongoing preparedness to deal with a range of crises and the critical role volunteer firefighters play in defending local communities.
