Blandon Fire Department Supported Technical Rescue Operation

BLANDON, Pa. — May 14th — As part of a mutual assistance assignment, the Blandon Fire Department responded to a car accident involving two trapped people on Route 222 Southbound in Muhlenberg Township. Muhlenberg Township Fire & Rescue 66 received assistance from Ladder 12 while workers attempted to securely extract the occupants from the car and grant EMS professionals access. In order to enhance patient care and guarantee a safe extrication, firefighters employed synchronized rescue procedures.
Entrapment incidents frequently call for resources from several agencies. In order to effectively manage complex rescue operations, the reaction demonstrated the value of mutual aid agreements throughout Berks County by enabling nearby agencies to pool manpower, equipment, and training.
