Manhattan, NY - FDNY members made a quick stop on a two-alarm fire in Manhattan on June 4th before flames could cause serious damage. Companies were sent to 541 W. 158th St. off of Broadway at about 5:30 A.M. for heavy smoke on the 6th floor of a 40’X100’ six-story OMD. All hands was transmitted as fire was discovered on multiple floors and extending to the cockloft. A second alarm was transmitted at 5:40 as members stretched in and got water on the fire. After venting, the fire was placed PWH at 5:56 and under control at 6:12. No serious injuries were reported.
