ESCAMBIA, FL - Escambia County Fire Rescue units responded to a residential structure fire in the 8200 block of Mier Henry Road, May 17th, where crews arrived to find an active fire in a single-story home. Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive attack, bringing the blaze under control and preventing further spread. During operations, crews successfully rescued four kittens from inside the home. While no injuries were reported among residents or firefighters, the home was deemed a total loss, and two occupants were displaced. The fire was determined to have been caused by faulty electrical wiring in the attic.
