Mutual Aid Supported West Milford Fire Response on Weaver Road

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

WEST MILFORD, N.J. — May 19th — Firefighters from Apshawa Volunteer Fire Co. responded to a fire on Weaver Road as part of a large-scale mutual aid operation. The fire required assistance from various West Milford fire agencies as well as nearby departments because it involved numerous vehicles, vehicle parts, fuel sources, and a structure. While mutual aid organizations helped with station coverage, water supply, and suppression operations, crews worked through the night to contain the situation.

After the response, department representatives expressed gratitude to all of the staff members who helped at the scene as well as the other communities that offered emergency coverage while local resources were dedicated to the situation. Since then, Weaver Road has reopened, and as the West Milford Fire Marshal's Office resumed its investigation, a small number of firefighters stayed on the scene.
