Heavy Fire Destroys Home on Copper Rock Rd. in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - Orange Lake and Winona Lake Fire Departments responded to a reported house on fire at 4 Copper Rock Road, off of Rock Cut Road, on June 1st.
Fire Command arrived to find fire through the first and second floors and requested a second-alarm sounded, bringing in Newburgh's FAST, Coldenham and Walden Fire Departments. A Tanker Task Force was set up at the foot of the road while additional tankers from Modena, Wallkill and Air National Guard responded to the scene. Goodwill FD stood by for Orange Lake, and Winona Lake was moved up to the scene. New Windsor was called to stand by.
Firefighters used hand lines and a deck gun from Orange Lake's Engine to battle the fire. Cronomer Valley's Truck was called to the scene and backed into the driveway, using water from the ladder to smother the inside of residence.
Central Hudson was called in for a power cut. Town of Newburgh Police and EMS were at the scene, as well as the Town of Newburgh Fire Inspector, and Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-13 36-4. The fire is currently under investigation.
