Westport, CT - The Westport Fire Department responded to a vehicle-into-building incident at Canal Park this afternoon.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that a vehicle had left the roadway, struck a parked car, and ultimately crashed into an apartment building.

The driver was quickly evaluated and treated by Westport EMS before being transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fortunately, no one was inside the apartment at the time of the crash. Fire crews worked to shore up and stabilize the structure, ensuring the building remained safe.

The Westport Building Department and Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to assist at the scene.

A coordinated response helped bring the situation under control quickly and safely.
