Lyme Fire Company Assisted in Connecticut River Incident

LYME, CONN. — May 9th — The Lyme Fire Company demonstrated the importance of coordinated emergency response across many organizations by participating in a recovery operation on the Connecticut River alongside a number of local and state authorities. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), the Chester Hose Company, the Lyme Ambulance Association, the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry, and Connecticut State Police Troop F were among the responding organizations. Throughout the operation, crews collaborated to support recovery efforts and ensure safety.


Specialized resources, effective communication, and tight collaboration between fire, EMS, law enforcement, and environmental agencies are frequently needed for incidents on the Connecticut River.
