Multiple Departments Respond to Second Alarm Fire in Walden

WALDEN, NY — The Walden Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1516 State Route 52 on May 28th. Upon arrival, Walden Command requested a second alarm. Responding units included: Pine Bush – Tanker/Fire Police, Wallkill – Pumper/Tanker, Coldenham – Tanker, Montgomery – Tanker, Walker Valley – FAST Team, Maybrook – Tanker, and Plattekill – Tanker.


A 10-minute status check reported two lines in operation with heavy fire conditions. At the 20-minute mark, the bulk of the fire had been knocked down.


Town of Montgomery Police and Montgomery EMS were on scene. New York State Electric & Gas also responded.


Deputy Fire Coordinators 36-12 and 36-4 were on scene. Fire Investigator 36-110 was requested and responded.


The occupant was able to evacuate safely. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
