City of Newburgh Firefighters Hold Annual Memorial Service

NEWBURGH, NY - City of Newburgh firefighters gathered on DuBois Street on May 29th, Memorial Day, to hold their annual memorial ceremony. Marquis Taylor, Vice President of the Firefighters Union Local 589, was the Master of Ceremonies. The Colors were presented by the Fire Department Color Guard, and Deacon Peter Haight, F.D. Chaplain, gave the opening prayer. Assistant Chief Paul Pullar read the names of members of the department who have passed, which was followed by a bell ringing for each member. A wreath was placed at the foot of the statue by Fire Chief Spinelli and V.P. Taylor. After placing the wreath, the Orange County Firefighters Pipes/Drums played Amazing Grace which was followed by the closing prayer.
