This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Shirley, N.Y. – On May 4th  The John S. Hobart Elementary School  in the William Floyd School District held its Family Fun day  on the school grounds which  included  games, Vendors ,  a bounce house and a touch a truck event. Of Course, what would a touch a truck be without some Fire Trucks and Ambulances. So the organizers invited members of the local Fire and EMS departments from Mastic and Mastic Beach to bring their rigs and put them on display. Kids were able to climb inside Fire Trucks on site from both Mastic and Mastic Beach Fire Department. Firefighters were on hand to explain some of the equipment they use to the kids who had inquiring minds. Mastic Ambulance Captain Mike Ryan and his crew were on hand  giving out EMS related goodies to children as well as giving tours of the ambulance. They explained the equipment and answered questions. Mastic Beach Ambulance also had a Ambulance on Display. Various vendors and other organizations were on hand and  a Chinese auction was held. A great day was had by all.
