On May 25, at around 1:19 a.m., the Amherst Fire Department sent both on-duty and off-duty personnel to respond to a complaint of a vehicle fire that had spread to a residence.
Arriving personnel discovered two cars completely engulfed in flames, according to officials. Before the fire could spread to any surrounding buildings, firefighters swiftly put it out.
An Amherst ambulance arrived in the Town of Granby to assist with a multi-alarm fire incident later that morning at around 4:05 a.m. During both occurrences, the department said that workers also responded to additional concurrent emergency calls.
There were no reported injuries.
