Binghamton, NY - Binghamton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at a two-story residence, where crews arrived to find active fire in the rear kitchen and heavy smoke throughout the home.

Engine 4 initiated an aggressive attack and quickly brought the fire under control while additional crews conducted primary searches to ensure the residence was clear of occupants.

During the search, firefighters located and safely removed a dog from the second floor, preventing further harm.

The fire was contained to the area of origin, and mutual aid partners including Binghamton Police, Superior Ambulance Service, and NYSEG assisted on scene.
