Rapid Multi-Agency Response Contains Electrical House Fire in Conklin

Conklin, NY - Conklin Volunteer Fire Department and mutual aid partners responded to a reported house fire with possible entrapment, which was quickly confirmed as a working fire upon arrival.

Law enforcement on scene confirmed all occupants had safely exited the residence. A second alarm was requested, bringing additional resources to assist with suppression and overhaul operations.

Crews from multiple departments, including units from Binghamton, arrived and initiated an aggressive interior attack, stretching lines to the second floor where the fire originated. Additional teams supported water supply, ventilation, and opening up affected areas to check for hidden fire extension.

The fire was brought under control quickly and contained to the second-floor area. No injuries were reported, and the cause was determined to be electrical in nature.
