Auburn, NY - Multiple agencies responded to the Auburn Correctional Facility after several correction officers reported symptoms following exposure to an unknown substance.
EMS crews initiated patient care before the Auburn Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team was requested to assist. Fire units conducted testing and scene assessment, with preliminary results indicating the presence of fentanyl.
Several individuals were transported for further evaluation while others were treated on scene. Crews completed decontamination and mitigation operations before clearing the incident.
The response was supported by strong coordination between fire, EMS, law enforcement, and correctional staff.
