Pittsburgh, PA - Multiple Pittsburgh public safety agencies responded to an incident on Greenfield Avenue after a worker was shocked by an electrical current, sparking a fire inside a residence.
Initial reports indicate two adult males were working on gutters when they came into contact with the home’s main power line, igniting a fire within the structure. A juvenile occupant inside the home was safely escorted out by responders.
Crews coordinated with the Duquesne Light Company to secure the power supply before safely removing one of the workers from the roof. Firefighters brought the blaze under control, preventing further damage.
The injured worker was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition with burn injuries. Fire investigators and city inspection officials responded to determine the cause and assess the structure.
