City of Newburgh Firefighters Hold Memorial Day Ceremony

NEWBURGH, NY – On May 25th, members of the City of Newburgh Firefighters Local 589 IAFF held their annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Dubois Street in Newburgh in front of the Firefighters Memorial Statue. The detail was called to attention as the City of Newburgh Fire Department Color Guard posted the colors. Department Chaplain Deacon Peter Haight delivered the opening prayer. Following the prayer, Fire Chief Paul Pullar and the president of the firefighters' union laid a wreath at the foot of the memorial. The Orange County Firefighters Pipes and Drums then performed "Amazing Grace." Chaplain Haight delivered the closing prayer, and the detail was dismissed.
