Residents Displaced After Fire at Providence Apartment Complex

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence Fire Department reported that a fire at the Arbor Glen apartment complex on East Drive on May 7th resulted in the displacement of 11 households. Responding from the department's headquarters, firefighters attempted to safely evacuate residents while containing the fire. The cause of the fire is still being looked into, according to officials.


While some inhabitants experienced severe damage and were temporarily displaced, others were able to return to their apartments. After the fire, the American Red Cross provided emergency housing and support services to impacted families. Additionally, the Providence Department of Recreation opened its facility to offer responding agencies and displaced individuals temporary refuge and support.
