Diver Team Locates Submerged Victim in River Rescue Operation
Weston, CT - Emergency crews responded to a reported water emergency at Devil’s Glen after a fisherman entered the river and failed to resurface. First-arriving units initiated a coordinated search, with cold-water rescue personnel entering the water but facing challenging conditions that limited visibility and effectiveness.
A mutual aid request brought in a regional police dive team, which began underwater search operations upon arrival. Divers located the victim approximately 20 feet below the surface and brought him to shore.
Fire personnel assisted with extrication before the patient was transferred to EMS, where advanced medical care was initiated. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.
Multiple agencies operated on scene during the incident. The circumstances surrounding the event remain under investigation.
