Hazardous Material Incident in Pennsburg Borough

PENNSBURG, PA - On Saturday, May 22nd at 3:35 P.M., the Pennsburg Fire Company, along with several other fire companies from Upper Perk Valley, were dispatched to investigate an incident involving hazardous materials at the Penn View Apartments, located at 129 Fourth St., in the borough.

On arrival, Upper Perk Police and fire chiefs entered the building and found a Haz-Mat condition that required additional personnel from Montgomery County to respond .Both buildings at 127 and 129 Fourth Street were completely evacuated. There were no injuries.

A Haz-Mat unit from Montgomery County was dipatched to the location to assist in the investigation. Assisting Pennsburg Fire Co. were fire companies from East Greenville and Red Hill. EMS units from Upper Perk and Harleysville were also on scene, along with North Penn Goodwill canteen, Upper Perk Police Dept. officers, Fire Police from the four boroughs and Pennsburg Borough Officials.
