This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

KINNELON, NJ — May 19th — When a trash yard fire occurred along Weaver Road in West Milford, firemen from the Department Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company came to help the West Milford Fire Department. As part of a regional mutual aid assignment that sent other local departments to the incident, Engine 33 and Tanker 3 responded.

During the event, firefighters Joe Cappa and William Curreri, who both attended Kinnelon High School, worked alongside the Kinnelon personnel. Because of the extent of the fire area, officials said tanker operations and water supply support were crucial. Morris and Passaic County emergency services organizations continue to improve staffing and coordination through mutual help responses.
