Many Departments Called to a Scrap Yard File

COSHOCTON, OHIO - On April 06, 2021, at about 12:30pm, the Three Rivers FD was paged out to a reported fire at the Lity Scrap Services at the 23000 block of County Rd. 621. Workers had been dismantling a car when the fire broke out. Upon arriving on scene, fire units observed a pile of up to 100 cars were now on fire.

Coshocton FD sent their Ladder 301 and a 3,000 ft. supply line was run from a hydrant just to supply the ladder. Portable ponds were also set up to supply water to other engines via a tanker shuttle.

Along with the ladder, ground monitors and many hand lines were operating on this fire.

Before it was over, nine fire departments had been dispatched to this fire. They included Bakersville FD, Conesville FD, Coshocton FD, Three Rivers FD, West Lafayette FD, Walhonding Valley FD, Jackson Twp. FD, Newcomerstown FD, and Holmes District 1 FD.

Assisting on scene were the Coshocton County EMS, the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, Coshocton County EMA, and the Salvation Army Disaster Services.
