Driver Gives Dollar Tree Drive Through Shopping Experience

Shirley N.Y. On Monday May 17th at about 3:05 PM Suffolk Fire Rescue and Emergency Services dispatchers activated the Mastic Fire Department and Mastic Ambulance Company for a vehicle crash at 413 Northbound William Floyd Parkway. Dispatch advised in coming units that they were responding to reports of a car vs. building situation. The first to arrive at the scene was Mastic Ambulance Assistant Chief Mike Montauban {5-37-31}. Assistant Chief Montauban verified that no one was trapped in the vehicle and checked on the driver.
Ambulances 5-37-19 & 5-37-16 Arrived on scene and the crews went to work packaging the patient for transport to the local hospital while Mastic FD Engine’s 5-12-1 & 5-12-3 Arrived on scene under the command of 1st Lieutenant Rudy Sunderman {5-12-60}. Firefighters ensured the vehicle was secured and checked the damage. Once it was determined it was safe to remove the vehicle they advised SCPD who removed the vehicle from the sidewalk. A Fire Marshal was requested to the scene as was the town buildings department to assess the damage further. The establishment was closed for the remainder of the day. All units were back in service with the exception of the transporting ambulance in about 30 minutes of receiving the call.
