The Amwell Valley Fire Company responded to a reported barn fire at the intersection of Amwell Road and Clover Hill Road on May 9 at around 3:55 p.m.
Chief 48 and Deputy Chief 26 came, according to officials, and took leadership while workers carried out a 360-degree evaluation that verified a completely involved barn fire. Tender 48-2 set up a water supply operation while Engine 48-1 deployed two attack lines.
After it was discovered that the fire was inside Somerset County, Somerset Chief 37 was given command of the operations. In about an hour, Hunterdon County units finished cleaning up and vacated the area.
The Hillsborough Township incident Marshal's Office is still looking into what caused the incident.
