Quick Response to Reported Kitchen Fire, Contained Without Extension
Bernardston, MA - Bernardston Fire Department, assisted by Northfield EMS, responded to a residence in the 100 block of Parmenter Road for a reported stove fire that had already been extinguished prior to arrival.
On scene, Car 1 and Engine 2 & Engine 3 conducted a prompt size-up and confirmed that the fire had been knocked down before crews arrived.
Despite the initial extinguishment, firefighters performed a detailed investigation to ensure there was no hidden fire extension into surrounding cabinetry, walls, or ventilation areas.
Crews checked for heat signatures, monitored conditions, and carried out necessary overhaul to confirm complete extinguishment and eliminate any remaining hazards. Once the residence was fully deemed safe, the incident was turned over with no further issues reported.
