VERNON TOWNSHIP, PA — April 29th — At a reported house fire on Dutch Hill Road, members of the Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department & Emergency Service arrived to support the Vernon Central Fire Department. To assist with fire control efforts, firefighters from engines 4-21 and 4-25 responded. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered that the fire had been contained to a small area and had been swiftly put out by the first responding units.
Before going back to work later in the evening, Cochranton personnel helped with overhaul and fireground support. During emergency situations, staffing, equipment, and coordinated activities are still provided by Crawford County's mutual aid responses.
