Hackensack, NJ - Members of Hackensack Fire Department battling a 4th alarm fire approximately at 17:50 P.M. on May 16th, 1st Platoon was dispatched to 227 Main Street originally for an activated fire alarm. Upon arrival, heavy smoke was seen in the area and a working fire was called. Shortly after a 2nd Alarm was called, a platoon recall was requested as per Command. At 18:05, Command requested EVAC Tones for all members out of the building. Roof was starting to collapse and heavy fire was pushing through the roof. Command requested a 3rd Alarm to backfill the firehouse. Approximately around 19:04, the bulk of the fire was contained and knocked down. All companies continued and performed overhaul while a light haze of smoke continued to come from the building.
