At 4:11 pm on Monday, 5/18/26 Norwich’s Engines 1 & 3, Squad A, Truck 1, Battalion 1 and East Great Plain Ladder 5 were dispatched to 16 Cedar Lane for a shed fire. While responding, Dispatch updated that the shed was not near any other structures, so the Battalion held Squad A and Ladder 5. Engine 1 arrived at 4:17 with a fully involved 10 foot by 12 foot shed that had spread to a fence and brush.
Engine 1 stretched an 1.75” hose line and knocked most of the fire down. Engine 3 stretched a 3 inch hose line from Engine 1 to the hydrant and established the water supply. Truck 1 stretched a second line and performed overhaul. Battalion 1 had command and the Norwich Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
