CLIFTON PARK, NY — On April 29, 2025, at 10:37 PM, the Clifton Park Fire Department, Boght Fire Department, and Clifton Park Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the Twin Lake Apartments complex at 96 Overlook Pass for a reported apartment fire. The New York State Police, Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, and Clifton Park EMS arrived on scene and notified the dispatcher that they had a working structure fire with multiple people trapped and were making rescues. The EMS Supervisor on scene (unit 1971) requested a second ambulance to the location.

As police units assisted in evacuating occupants, the EMS supervisor notified the first due apparatus that a ladder was needed for a victim trapped on the second floor. Heavy smoke and significant heat were pushing from the apartment. Police and EMS personnel made entry into the fire apartment and successfully rescued one person. EMS command notified the dispatcher that two victims on scene were suffering from smoke inhalation.

Car 19 arrived and immediately transmitted the second alarm, requesting the Hillcrest, Halfmoon-Waterford, West Crescent, and Visher Ferry Fire Departments to respond. The first due truck company arrived, deployed an inch-and-three-quarter hand line, and made an aggressive push inside the apartment with the heavy fire. Additional engine and rescue companies began arriving, laddering the building, and searching apartments above the fire.

During operations, the ceiling in the main area began to bubble and melt due to extreme heat. Firefighters at the rear of the building removed sliding glass doors to ventilate the apartment. Several pets were found in apartments above the fire floor and were safely rescued. Command requested the Round Lake Fire Department and the Jonesville Fire Department’s rehab team to the scene.

Apartments above the fire floor were heavily charged with smoke and heat. Command requested ventilation fans to clear the smoke after firefighters checked for fire extension and confirmed none was present. Firefighters on the roof conducted ventilation due to light heat and smoke in the attic but found no fire. Fire investigators arrived and began their investigation into the cause of the fire.

Firefighters inside the main fire apartment conducted extensive overhaul to ensure no further extension into the apartments above. The two victims rescued were evaluated by EMS but were not transported. No injuries were reported.

Due to the quick actions of members on scene from Clifton Park EMS, New York State Police, and Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, all occupants were safely evacuated. Had they not acted swiftly, injuries could have occurred.
